Winc Academy has appointed Joran van Aart as new Chief Executive Officer as per 1 May, to lead the company in its fast growth and internationalisation. The goal: reskill and prepare as many people as possible for a career as developer or data analyst.
Van Aart brings over a decade of international scale-up experience in online higher education platforms. He served as COO and Chief Growth Officer at Studyportals, where he and the team grew the business from 5 to 150 employees and helped over485,000 students to enroll in their dream university abroad.

Pijnenborg and Snepvangers will both continue their engagement as members of the board and will play an active role in strategy and in an upcoming Series A funding round.

Winc Academy was founded in 2018 as an online education provider, offering remote programming courses which students can follow at their own pace, including personal coaching in Dutch. Over 800 students have enrolled for courses at Winc Academy. The average age is 35 and the most popular course is Full-Stack Development, which takes 20 weeks to complete when studying full-time.
